With plenty of experience of the glorious Greek Islands here at Sailing Holidays, we know a thing or two about some of the most beautiful and often hidden bays to anchor in for the ultimate lunch stop! So, let us break it down for you..
North Ionian Islands
Emerald Bay - This is our favourite of all swim stops in the Ionian - a big statement I hear you say, but the clear emerald water and bright white sand speak for themselves!
Refuge Bay - Near Sivota Mourtos and the perfect place to take refuge from a breezy passage for lunch!
Fourth Bay - Around the corner to Refuge Bay offering another delightful anchorage perfect for a lunchtime dip or two!
South Ionian Islands
Pera Pighadi - located on the east side of Ithaka Island where a small island sits in the middle of two large bays. This spot offers unbeatably clear turquoise water and some stunning scenery. The perfect place for a lazy lunch and swim.
Cliff Bay - on the south of Atoko Island. This is a gorgeous spot to drop anchor, swim and take in the stunning surroundings.
Polis Bay - you'll find this bay on the west side of Ithaka Island which isn't too far from the hustle and bustle of Fiskardo across the way. This is a great place to swim up to the beach and catch some rays!
Saronic Islands
Russian Bay - A small inlet near Poros which is well protected with good holding for a night at anchor! In the entrance of the bay is the tiny Daskalia Island with a chapel! A beautiful spot to visit!
Mandraki Bay - Is a beautiful anchorage less than a mile from Hydra Harbour that's perfect for an overnight stop. You can get a water taxi from the back of your boat around into the gorgeous Hydra for the evening - ideal!
Ay. Nikolaos Bay - An attractive little cove on the south west of Hydra, it's definitely worth dropping the hook here for an afternoon swim and snorkel!
Sporades Islands
Stifalos Bay - you'll find this little hideout on the south east coast of Skopelos Island nestled between two large hills offering great protection from the Meltemi. It has plenty of shallow water for dropping anchor for a picturesque little dip!
Perestera Bay - A gorgeous spot on the south coast of Peresteri Island that's perfect for a couple of hours or even a night on the hook! You'll fall in love with the beautiful green surroundings and glorious blue water for swimming.
Kyra Panagia Bay - located on Kyra Panayia Island, there is gin clear waters to dive into with some ruins to feast your eyes upon! Look out for a goat or two coming out to the waters edge to say hello!
