WHAT IS A LUXURY CHARTER?

This type of holiday features large modern sailing yachts, either monohulls or catamarans. There is plenty of space on board affording you a real sense of comfort and luxury. Like a villa on water, your yacht will go wherever you like. Luxury yachts are always crewed by a skipper and include a host and/or cook, giving you ultimate freedom to enjoy your holiday. Luxury charters also come with an array of water sports equipment for you to choose from, making bay stops all the more enjoyable.

IS THERE A SEPARATE FEE FOR THE ONBOARD CREW?

On a luxury charter, the crew’s services are included in the total cost of the holiday. Unlike on a skippered charter, you do not need to pay the skipper and host a separate fee or provide food and drink.

HOW DOES FOOD AND DRINK WORK?

Breakfast and lunch with drinks are included on all luxury charters. Evening meals are optional and dependent on your choice of charter.

WHAT IS AN A.P.A.?

The Advanced Provisioning Allowance is usually 20% of the holiday cost and it is used to cover all expenses during your charter. These include the following: food and drink, fuel and generator use, gasoline and lubricants for the use of the tender, delivery fees (if applicable), mooring fees and gratuities to the crew. During the week the skipper keeps a record of the expenses, any remaining amount is returned to you at the end of the charter.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN LUXURY AND SKIPPERED CHARTERS?

The main difference between these holiday types is the size of the yacht and the crew on board. For a luxury charter the yachts are 50 ft or more in length, granting you unmatched space on board. The yachts used for luxury charters also have a permanent crew on board working as team to ensure that you and your guests have the best possible experience.

IS THERE A SET ITINERARY FOR EACH CHARTER?

Luxury charters do not have a set itinerary. The skipper will carefully monitor the forecast before and during the trip, planning the route according to your preferences. It is a good idea to have a rough idea of the places you would like to visit and see, this will allow the skipper to construct your unique itinerary. The skipper will always do their utmost to satisfy your requirements.

HOW MUCH TIME DO YOU SPEND SAILING?

It is completely up to you how much sailing is done. All the luxury yachts are configured for cruising and are just as happy on the motor as they are under sail. Luxury yacht charter is a great way to gain a basic understanding of sailing on larger boats. Your skipper will be more than happy to give you some informal instruction during the week.
