Cruising Instructor
Overview
This role offers the opportunity to work with Sailing Holidays in Corfu, Greece, teaching Day Skipper (DS) and Competent Crew (CC) courses in the beautiful, non-tidal waters of the Northern Ionian Sea. As a Sailing Holidays Cruising Instructor, you’ll benefit from the support of an established sailing school while gaining valuable experience. Sailing Holidays provides competitive pay, shared accommodation during shore-based weeks, and visa support for up to six months, with the expectation of a full-season commitment.
Qualifications & Skills
- Recognised Yachtmaster Instructor (YMI) or Cruising Instructor (CI) qualification.
- Current First Aid certificate.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills gained in a customer focussed environment.
- Flexible approach to work the required hours needed to complete the RYA syllabus.
- Safety conscious with knowledge of health and safety legislation.
- General boat maintenance knowledge and skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Fluent in English.
- Ability to swim.
Responsibilities
- Teach Day Skipper and Competent Crew courses aboard 36–39ft Beneteau yachts.
- Work on a 3 weeks on the water / 1 week shore-based rota.
- Lead 5-day courses:
- Start Monday at 09:00.
- Sail to different ports/anchorages daily (weather permitting).
- Return Friday afternoon, ensuring clients clean the boat.
- Complete and submit paperwork.
- Saturday off; Sunday used for preparing yachts and welcoming new clients.
- During shore-based week:
- Provided with shared accommodation.
- 3 days off (Tues–Thurs).
- Assist with base support and boat maintenance on other days.
