If affordability is key... |
||
Launched around 2012, the Oceanis 31 is a stylish modern yacht which (as with all yachts in the Oceanis range) offers a touch more performance than other yachts, without compromising on comfort. There are two roomy double cabins and one bathroom as well as a comfortable cockpit and saloon. |

Athens & Dubrovnik | From £699 for a week |
Good things in small packages |
||
Launched between 2011-2013 the design includes a rounded coach roof as well as an extended drop down swim deck. At just 32 feet long, the 325 sounds like a small yacht, but the designers have managed to create everything you could want and expect in a much larger cruiser. The comfortable cockpit hosts a fold down helmsman’s seat (for access to the swimming platform). A feature that assures you this isn't the same type of 32ft yacht your grandpa used to sail! |

Open plan on board living |
||
This is a spacious and luxurious boat with pure lines and a hull structure reminiscent of a racing yacht. The Sun Odyssey 349 perfectly combines performance with open plan living space. The twin helm offers seamless access between the sea and cockpit - crucial for those lazy lunches at anchor! Released in 2015/2016 this yacht takes compact yacht design to new heights. Reminiscent of an airy Scandinavian loft, the interior offers more space than we have ever seen on a yacht of it’s size. |
Sailing with just two on board
Many worry about sailing with two people on board but modern roller furling mainsails and well equipped cockpits mean this is an easier (and more enjoyable!) endeavour than ever before. The addition of auto helms on smaller yachts has also made struggling to sail short-handed a thing of the past!
Enjoy real escapism
Rather than a hotel where you are surrounded by other holiday makers, having your own yacht really enables you to get off the tourist trail. Enjoy bays, coves and beaches completely to yourselves both during the day and overnight if you choose. A sailing holiday offers the perfect balance of as much privacy as you like, with the option to duck into atmospheric ports when you are ready to head back to civilisation. So if you like the idea of combining daytime escapism, with romantic evening meals ashore, a sailing holiday could be for you.
