Sail down the slopes in the Alps
As lovers of the outdoors and in particular active holidays, we are big fans of skiing here in the Sailing Holidays office! From feeling the wind in our hair, to enjoying the panoramic views and of course indulging in the fabulous food (and obligatory al fresco beer or two). We can think of a lot of reasons why sailors readily swap their sails for skis when the summer season comes to an end. With this in mind we thought we’d introduce you to our friends at VIP SKI – because we haven’t found anyone who does skiing holidays better than them. As a Sailing Holidays customer, all you need to do is click below and quote 'SAILING' to save 10% off holidays booked before the end of November, or read on to find out more...
Why do we like VIP SKI?
Well, in all honesty it’s because they are remarkably similar to us! With hundreds of glamorous websites jostling for position on the Google search pages it really is difficult to sort the trustworthy from the unreliable. After all, it is easy to build a flash website, quite a lot harder to deliver the perfect ski holiday.
They love skiing and so know exactly what goes into a spectacular holiday. They also own and run their chalets as well as working with local chalet owners. They care and you can trust them, but as with our lead crews that you know and love, it is really all about the staff!
From Lead Crew to Ski Crew
Sure, the other stuff is important ... great chalets in fantastic locations, lovely food, reliable flights ... but their strength lies in their people. As with our Skipper, Engineers and Hostesses, the host running your chalet, the driver in your vehicle and the ski host on the mountain will make or break your holiday.
A ski chalet/hotel holiday should be easy, where the simple things that really matter are done supremely well. Warm ski boots in the morning. Drivers who never let you put your own skis in the back. Nannies that provide a photo album at the end of the week. The utter bliss of a post-piste professional massage or perhaps a manicure and facial? Fluffy towels. Silly little things that are important to us, and so we know they will be important to you too.
Food glorious food...
A catered chalet holiday is all about the food...VIP SKI’s Executive Chef is passionate about food and hugely sensitive to the appetite of a hungry skier. The menus are heavy enough to reward mountain exertion yet light enough to leave you grinning not groaning.
As well as possessing a flair for entertaining and a genuine love of food, their chalet hosts are friendly, unflappable and exceptionally hard working. Every chalet and hotel offers you a catered ski holiday, so whether you choose to ski in France, Austria or Switzerland, your dedicated chalet host will ensure your mountain exertions are rewarded with sumptuous food and fine wine.
So where can we go skiing?
VIP SKI offers stylish chalets and hotels in the popular resorts of Val d’Isère, Méribel, Courchevel, La Plagne, Alpe d'Huez, Morzine, Avoriaz, Les Gets, St Anton, Lech, Verbier and Zermatt. All the chalets are fully catered. Where to choose?
Most people go skiing or snowboarding only once or twice (if they’re lucky) each year, so similarly to sailing, choosing the right destination is crucial. Lots of factors are considered when choosing a ski resort, the importance of each of them depends on your own personal preferences, the make-up of the group you are going on holiday with, your skiing ability, how far you wish to travel etc.
We believe their ski resorts in France, Austria and Switzerland offer the very best combination of charm, convenience, scenery and skiing terrain, to ensure whichever one you choose, you will have an unforgettable ski holiday.
