The three week Central Ionian including Amvrakia Gulf flotilla starting 27th May is very similar to our two week route, but gives you a little more time to relax, with two or three two-night stop overs in the likes of Parga, Vonitsa, or perhaps Kalamos or Kastos. This will give you the chance to explore the area overland, go day sailing, or maybe find your own quiet bay to anchor in for a romantic night on your own, or even just stay put and do nothing at all (without feeling guilty for doing exactly that!). This three week flotilla cruise, which we run for the first time 2011, in sheltered waters, offering excellent breezes and quiet places, was so popular we are offering it again in 2012. You will visit many idyllic spots between Ammouthia and Kastus including the best spots inside the Gulf of Amvrakia. The flotilla is based in Nidri on Lefkas Island, and runs as a two week holiday throughout the rest of the season. These two and three week routes allow the flotilla to get as far North as Fanari Bay and the village of Ammouthia, also calling at the idyllic small harbour of Ligia, perhaps anchoring for a night in gorgeous Two Rock bay, or a night in the seaside village of Mitikas. In the Gulf you will spend about four nights moored on village quays and getting stuck in to the irresistible sea food which is locally sourced and locally priced. We will spend at least one night in the historic town of Vonitsa with its well preserved Venetian castle overlooking the yachts as they sit on the town quay. You will be welcomed by Reza at the Remezzo taverna which does some of the nicest Greek food we have experienced, before making the gentle climb up to explore the castle. Turtles, dolphins and pelicans are occasionally seen as we sail around the Gulf and it is a generally gorgeous place to be. In the early part of your second week, you will head back down in to “the inland sea”, where we will visit several more spots for nights in local harbours. We will probably stop in one harbour on Meganisi Island, one harbour on Kalamos Island and one harbour on Kastus Island. And that’s not all! This is certainly an economic option for those wishing to take the family away on a sailing holiday where there are other families, but is not too crowded. For example, a four person family travelling for two weeks on a Classic Jaguar, starting 3rd July will cost just £665 per adult and £565 for the under 18’s!
