The Paxos area flotilla visits some of the most picturesque harbours of the Ionian Islands. The flotilla sailing area is largely sheltered by Corfu and Paxos Islands. Whilst you have the wind to sail with in the afternoons, you do not usually have the swell that goes with it. The regular afternoon breezes make this an ideal 'first flotilla' for couples on their own, young families or those making the step from dinghies to yachts. Plataria on the mainland is your starting point on our Paxos area flotilla route. We spend our evenings and nights in wonderfully ethnic Greek village harbours and bays where you can swim and relax. The highlight of the Paxos area flotilla cruise is, of course, the lotus eating island of Paxos with its four beautiful harbours - Lakka, Longos, Gaios and Mongonisi. Mongonisi has the only overnight mooring place on Paxos and is not actually a village but has a small sandy beach. Yannis, Theo, Christina and the family will fire up the grill and tend the bar for you until it's time to sleep or just lay on the beach counting the shooting stars! You will also drop anchor, swim and relax in the incredible emerald coloured bays of Anti-Paxos and visit Parga town with its historic Venetian castle and beautiful white sandy beach. Few days involve more than 12 miles sailing and destinations are visible soon after departure. There are plenty of small anchorages and village harbours for those who like to get away from it all. As we head back to Plataria, you may have the opportunity to pop into the village of Mourtos on the mainland and wend your way through the adjacent small archipelago of islands lying offshore. All in all, this is probably one of the most theraputic weeks it is possible to enjoy anywhere.
