In keeping with all our yachts, the Saronic flotillas are 'wintered' in Corfu and we round up a team of sailors in spring and autumn who wish to enjoy a slightly more challenging sailing trip without it being an endurance test. We sail (or motor) longer distances each day but stay overnight in a variety of different places. The two week delivery covers 25 to 35 miles each day depending on the weather. We will avoid 'punching any seas' because weather forecasts are excellent these days, and we have a couple of days 'up our sleeve'. Our first day will be a 25 mile run down to Plataria or Mourtos (unless we have a Southerly wind.) Our second day will be to Parga then our third day will be to either one of the coastal villages or the town quay at Lefkas Town for the night (and a beer with Steve at the lighthouse). Our shorter and more relaxed fourth day will be spent either in Ithaka or Kastos. On the fifth or sixth day, we have an early start to 'round the corner' past Oxia Island to Messalongi in the Gulf of Patras, where we normally relax for a day depending on how progress has evolved. We can stock up here with supplies, before heading Eastwards the next day underneath the incredible Anti Rion suspension bridge and on to the lovely Island of Trizonia for a peaceful night and an idyllic dinner. We are well past half way when we set off to the picturesque town of Galaxhidi. Last time, we enjoyed Galaxhidi so much, we stopped for a day and did a day trip to the Oracle at Delphi. Time is zooming by, so our next run is down to one of the harbours near the ancient city of Corinth. The following morning, we can be at the entrance to the Corinth Canal nice and early to transit this wonder of industrial engineering around midday, then enjoy a pleasant sail down to Korfos on the Peloponesian coast. The final day is a another pleasant sail down to our summer base of Epidhavros.
