Sailing holidays in Spain focus around two of their world famous island groups; the Canary Islands and the Balearic Islands.

Both island groups are extremely popular land based holiday locations, but the sailing in both is just fantastic - especially when you consider that with a yacht you are able to visit all islands while on holiday, and not restrict yourself to just one. It would be a mistake however to group them, as both are very different, not least of all with the Canary Islands lying in the Atlantic Ocean!

The Balearic Islands are located off the eastern shores of the Spanish mainland, east of Valencia and south east of Barcelona. The Balearic Islands are perhaps better recognised by the names of their islands, which include Ibiza, Mallorca (Majorca), and Menorca. Palma is one of the better served airports for flights from the UK.

The Canary Islands lie off the western shores of Africa in the Atlantic Ocean. Also a popular destination for land based holidays, the Canary Islands offer sailing best suited to more experienced sailors. Being on a yacht in the Canary Islands gives you the perfect vehicle to 'cherry pick' the best locations to visit while there, but also gives you perfect respite from the crowds that can build up in the more popular destinations.
