Sailing Holidays has teamed up with Corfu Sea School to offer valuable RYA training and qualifications in the warmth and comfort of Greece. Whether you’ve never stepped on a yacht before, or you dream of skippering your own, we can help you take the next step. The practical training takes place over six days, although you will enjoy seven days and nights aboard the yacht. Each course includes our unique online training system which allows you to complete the theory work in the comfort of your own home. Hence there’s no need for a lengthy class based course beforehand. You'll arrive in Greece fully prepared! So, which course is for you...? RYA Competent Crew One Week Sail and Theory Package The course is suitable for beginners or those with limited experience who want to ensure a solid basis before the next level. You’ll live in the environment of a modern yacht, spending a week cruising around Corfu and the North Ionian. Along the way you’ll learn the fundamentals such as sail handling and trim, nautical terms, useful knots and how to steer the boat. The course is great fun and an excellent way to learn ‘how to sail!’. Included in the package is our online ‘Practial Primer’ course. This way you’ll arrive on the yacht more confident and well prepared for your week of learning to sail in the sun. You will skipper a yacht on a number of short passages, under the guidance of your instructor, taking charge of everything from passage planning to interpreting weather forecasts and mooring. Prior to arrival in Greece, participants complete the RYA’s Essential Navigation/Seamanship course, together with our unique online training.
