Sailing Holidays' Ltd operates its own flotilla yachts around the Ionian, the Saronic and (new for 2012!) the Sporades Islands of Greece.
Our flotilla sailing holidays in the sunny Greek Islands have been introducing practical British people with common sense to sailing for 35 years.
We operate a 'can do' operational philosophy in the firm belief any 'outdoorsey person' can enjoy our variety of ‘soft sailing' on yachts set up for the job. This takes place in one of the most pleasant and sheltered sailing areas of the world.
A UK sailing certificate is not required for our kind of holiday. However, we encourage our clientele to develop their skills on RYA courses after they have the learned the basics on the holidays.
Our smaller and older 27ft yachts attract almost entirely couples, except during the school holidays when younger families on a budget can enjoy the same beautiful islands as everybody else at half the cost. Does size matter?
Our middle-sized yachts in the 30-33ft range introduce a bit more comfort in that they have separate cabins, and more salubrious toilet and shower arrangements.
Our 36-46ft range of yachts caters for either bigger groups or bigger people generally and they sometimes wander off a bit more independently.
Finally, our 'four en suite cabin' 50 and our skippered 52 complete the fleet line up for those who really like their space.
Due to the favourable nature of our sunny sailing area and the way we have set up our yachts to be really easy to handle, even beginners can enjoy these holidays.
People join us from all sorts of gently active backgrounds such as dinghy sailing, windsurfing, fishing, scuba diving, and many other water-borne pursuits.
Basically, if you feel that you can do it, you almost certainly can. For all our years of operation, we have been giving the British public the opportunity to 'have a go at sailing' without having to endure the dubious 'delights' of the English Channel or being yelled at by a retired naval officer.
Many people introduced to sailing by us are scattered all over the world on their own yachts, and some of their children have become household names in UK sailing.
Our summer of sailing in the sun runs from the beginning of May to the end of October each year and includes a range of holidays to suit most people’s requirements for sailing in the sun. Weekend flights to Greece complete the 'package'.
