The Saronic Islands are similar to the Ionian in that the coastline is lush and verdant, and the harbours are small and friendly. For those of you used to cruising with us on our regular Ionian flotillas you’ll be pleased to note that the overnight stops will not incorporate many marinas, and the daily distance sailed will also be a familiar 7 – 15 miles. The winds in this area are generally from the southeast and can be a little fresher than found in the Ionian, so some experience is necessary. Cruising the Saronic Islands will be a fleet of Beneteau 331s and 361s alongside our brand new Beneteau 323s.

You can see from the pictures the general idea of the cruise, which has been designed to keep us out of the way of the well-known Meltemi north wind that blows down the Central Aegean.
Our start and finish base is the little fishing village of Korfos set on the Peloponnese mainland. Scheduled flights will be Monday to Monday from Heathrow to Athens and transfer time from Athens airport to Korfos is 1 hour 40 minutes. Be sure to have cameras ready to catch the view as the coach takes you on the descent into Korfos harbour.
From there the flotilla will work its way southeast, around the corner into the Argolic Gulf, maybe as far as Navplion, before working it’s way back towards Korfos. We have researched and checked out 22 safe, pretty and flotilla friendly harbours, not including bays for overnight anchoring, so where the flotilla stops on this cruise will depend entirely on the weather, your lead crew and of course you.
An added bonus to this new destination is that the fleet will start and finish the season in the Ionian enabling us to add to our programme a beautiful two week Corinth Cruise. The first week of the season will be a one week cruise from Corfu to Sivota, Lefkas departing Sunday 4th May. From here the Corinth Cruise begins on Sunday 11th May, heading south for two weeks through the Gulfs of Patras and Corinth, the Corinth Canal and ending up in Korfos. The same applies in reverse towards the end of the season, though leaving Korfos for the Corinth Cruise slightly earlier on the 29th of September finishing back in Sivota, Lefkas on 12th October to begin a two week whole Ionian Cruise north and finally a one week Paxos Cruise for the last week of the season.
