This small island is not populated except for a few passing fishermen and monks from the small Monastery on the east coast. There is the ruins of a very old church on the east side of the island as well.

It is home only to goats, cows and some horses.  It is part of the NMPANS nature reserve, and so take great care not to disturb the wildlife in the area.  It is one of the few homes left to the endangered Mediterranean Monk Seal. The two bays with anchorages certainly give a feel of being ‘away from civilization’ and the tranquility will make you unwilling to leave.
