Little Vathi is a really pretty village port with several tavernas to choose from and a selection of grocery shops. The whole bay has developed over the years from once being a classic Greek fishing harbour, to a much larger destination for yachts.
There are now three different options for mooring. The original fishing harbour is still there and it is very popular. It is a very pleasant harbour to wander around.
There are a few tavernas and among them is one of the originals ‘The Rose Garden’ where Stephanos’ daughter Effi will look after you. Another popular taverna is ‘Stavros’ which is right on the quay to the right in the inner harbour. They specialise in fish, with the fishing boats themselves tied up right outside the fishing boats tie up right outside. It doesn't get much fresher than this.
One unique curiosity of this harbour is the wreck of an old crashed airoplane in a metre or so of water on the left side as you come in. All sorts of stories are told about what it is and why it is there so be sure to ask the locals for their take on the story!
