Ay. Euphemia is a small town located in Pilaros Cove on the northwest side of Samos Bay. It has retained its ‘avrio’ (tomorrow) atmosphere.
In the village there are a couple of mini markets and a post office with a bakery next door. The coffee shop does brilliant cappuccino. There are several really nice tavernas and your lead crew will point you in the right direction.
In recent years people have been enjoying the swimming pool at a nearby hotel, for lazy lunches and evening meals. Euphemia is often used as a two night stopover, to allow the two week flotillas some exploring time.
Last time we were there, we took the time to walk around the village. It is also a short taxi ride to the famous Myrtos beach on the west coast. Another place worth visiting is the Melliasani caves which are not far from the port by taxi, car or motobike (all of which can be hired locally for the day).
