The stunning island of Ithaka in the South Ionian is home to some of our favourite flotilla stops.
North of Kioni you will find the bay of Frikes. Frikes is a beautiful and relaxing village in which to unwind. Frikes is only 3km from the town of Stavros which is, according to legend, the birthplace of Odysseus, who fought bravely in the Trojan wars. We recommend the walk up to visit Stavros for an explore!
Kioni is one of the prettiest villages in the area and as a result has become a yacht magnet, with a truly bustling Greek atsmophere! The quay gets very busy in the height of summer and so mooring can get increasingly creative, but this all adds to the fun of it!
Port Vathi is the main port (and town) on Ithaka island. It has a wonderful 'old Greece' feel and a wander around the back streets of the Old Town will take you back to the days when flotillas were first wandering down this way.
A swim stop south of Vathi (but well worth the trip) is Pere Pigadhi where a small island sits in the middle of two large bays. This spot offers unbeatably clear turquoise water and some stunning scenery. The perfect place for a lazy lunch and swim. We recommend exploring the coast of the little island on one of our SUP's (stand up paddleboards)...
