The village (such as it is) is about a 20 minute walk from the harbour but we seldom get past ‘Thespinas’ which is right at the harbour. They speak very good English and do excellent grilled Greek food, particularly fish. It is a very popular taverna for local people too, which says a lot to us! There is also a bar next door, which is fantastic for watching the sunset. They have recently built a basic shower block.
A short walk either north or south from the harbour lie wonderful white sandy beaches, which are well worth a visit for an hour or two in the early evening. The swimming is perfect.
There is a shop up in the village with some very basic bits and pieces and also a small bakery. There is very little else apart from a traditional Greek Orthodox Church.
